Sickman, Laurence [ Director ] Sound. Light. Silence: Art that Performs.  Kansas City:  The Nelson Gallery -- Atkins Museum, 1966, First of only one printing. Catalog of exhibition organized by Ralph T. Coe.  8 1/2"  X  8 1/2"  32pp. [unpaginated] Commentary, discussion, 23 illustrations of the exhibit.  Under one heading named "Psychic Art," we read:  "Sound, light, silence: these are the polarities of the late 1960's in visual art. Now we must seek the values which underlie that plethora of so-called styles which have come our way since 1960--Pop Art, Op Art, Minimal Art, Primary Structures, Environmental Art, Kinetic Art, Systematic Art, and Erotic Art--until it would seem that each new season must devise it's own nomenclature or fail to "catch on." [Ralph T. Coe] PLEASE NOTE: The above photos "smooth out" imperfections. The lighting hides the many marks of handling, dents, and bends this item has received. The end papers are slightly sun toned. In spite of all those imperfections, you can see why I chose to include this catalogue in my offerings; It's brilliant.

Item is VG minus.
