Wharton, Anne Hollingsworth, Heirlooms in Miniatures. Philadelphia and London, 1898, 1897. Yes, the subject
matter of this book is quite interesting and has both artistic and romantic appeal, but this book as
a title is not particularly rare, amd this is not even the first edition. What you ARE viewing is OBJECT DE ART IN PRISTINE
CONDITION... A BOOK... As new as it was in 1898. Unread. Untouched. As if it emerged from a time capsule. This 1898 book is
in FINE + condition...save three defects which you can note in my photos: Defect 1- the spine has a raised edge which runs
the length of the book--I use shadow and light to emphasize this defect--if you hold the book, you would never know it. Defect
2- There is a faint small dark spot on the front board dead center, just beneath the "T" in the word MINIATURES.
Defect 3- The top board is ever so slightly arched upward. Also a bookseller code is penciled in rear. When I first encountered
this book, I spent days and weeks unable to get it out of my mind. It will captivate you. Transport you. If you tell
someone to close their eyes--that you are going to put a 100 year old book in their hands--when you allow them to open their
lids and see this tome, all their air will at once leave. Uncut and many many pages unopened. ACCURATE COLOR OF THIS BOOK
IS BEST CAPTURED IN TOP PHOTO. $200USD
